TBILISI. Dec 11 (Interfax) - South Ossetia has released three Georgian citizens, who were detained for illegally crossing the border.
Residents from the villages of Lamiskana and Bozhami in the Kaspi municipality were detained last Saturday, the Georgian State Security Service told reporters.
They were handed over to Georgian police patrol officers on Tuesday, the State Security Service said.
According to Georgian media reports, the detainees were released after a 5,000 ruble fine had been paid.
Tbilisi does not recognize the border with South Ossetia. Georgian authorities say that detaining anyone on charges of violating the border is illegal.
