FSB reports detention of Right Sector supporter plotting explosion in Murmansk

MOSCOW. Dec 11 (Interfax) - A supporter of the Right Sector extremist organization (banned in Russia) has been detained on suspicion of plotting a major explosion in Murmansk, the Federal Security Service (FSB)'s public relations center said in a statement seen by Interfax on Wednesday.

"The Federal Security Service has stopped the activity of a supporter of the Right Sector extremist organization who was plotting a terror attack near the building housing Murmansk self-government bodies by means of an improvised explosive device," the statement said.

The citizen of Russia born in 1983 was detained in Murmansk on December 10 while retrieving a powerful improvised explosive device from a cache.

"Investigative authorities opened a criminal case on counts of plotting a terror attack," the statement said.
