Still unclear whether fire might delay Admiral Kuznetsov's reunion with Navy - USC head

MOSCOW. Dec 12 (Interfax) - The damage done by the fire to the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier will be assessed after the fire is completely extinguished, head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Alexei Rakhmanov told Interfax on Thursday.

"The damage will be assessed when it is safe to access the compartment," Rakhmanov said.

"I will not be able to answer your question until our specialists visit the compartment," he said in response to the question whether the fire might delay the aircraft carrier's reunion with the Russian Navy.

As reported earlier, the repaired Admiral Kuznetsov was due to reunite with the Navy in 2022.
