Zelensky pledges to try to change certain provisions of Minsk Agreements, although this is hard to do

KYIV. Dec 13 (Interfax) - Ukraine will attempt to change certain provisions of the Minsk Agreements, including the one regarding Kyiv's control over the border, President Volodymyr Zelensky said on the Pravo na Vladu program aired by the television channel 1+1 on Thursday night.

"This is extremely hard to do, but we must do it. You and I have to understand that four years have passed since the time the Minsk Agreements were signed, and everything is changing in our life. We understand that my team did not sign the Minsk Agreements but, as the incumbent administration, have to honor the terms that the former authorities agreed to," Zelensky said.

For instance, the incumbent administration does not support the provision which demands that Russia hand over control of the Donbas sector of the border to Ukraine only upon the local elections in Donbas. "I have said so on multiple occasions, and this is our final decision," Zelensky said.
