MOSCOW. Dec 24 (Interfax) - The first phase of a military town being built for a Northern Fleet air defense formation at the Yakut port of Tixi has been completed, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said at an enlarged meeting of the Defense Ministry's collegium on Tuesday.
"The construction of the first-phase infrastructure of a 4,600 square meter military town for the Northern Fleet air defense division in Tixi has been completed," Shoigu said.
A similar military town called Nagurskaya on the Alexandra Land island, is now fully equipped, and on the Novoya Zemlya archipelago, a school was renovated for all children of military service personnel in the village of Belushya Guba, he said.
