MOSCOW. Jan 9 (Interfax) - Possible joint actions to reduce tensions in the Middle East were discussed in a phone conversation between Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Hakan Fidan, the head of Turkey's National Intelligence Organization, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"The conversation addressed the situation in the Middle East and in Northern Africa, and also possible joint actions to reduce tensions and resolve crisis situations in the region," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a report obtained by Interfax on Monday.
The phone conversation took place in the evening of January 5.
