DONETSK. Jan 15 (Interfax) - A serviceman of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) was killed as a result of a mortar attack by the Ukrainian army, a DPR militia spokesman said.
"A defender of our republic has sustained lethal injuries as a result of a provocative armed attack," the spokesman told the press on Wednesday.
The situation in Donbas traditionally worsens before meetings of the Trilateral Contact Group, he said, noting that the next meeting is scheduled to be held on January 16.
