TASHKENT. Jan 28 (Interfax) - Uzbekistan stands ready to facilitate the launch of a peaceful political process in Afghanistan, Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Kamilov said at a meeting with Afghan Deputy Foreign Minister Mirwais Nab in Berlin.
"In the course of exchanging opinions, the Uzbek side reaffirmed its interest in restoring peace and stability in Afghanistan as well as its readiness to facilitate the launch of intra-Afghan peace talks," the Uzbek Foreign Ministry's press service said on Tuesday.
Nab, in turn, thanked the Uzbek leadership for its consistent steps to promote Afghanistan's involvement in integration processes in the region and for its practical assistance in implementing infrastructure projects, which are important for the Afghan economy, the press service said.
The Kamilov-led Uzbek delegation is on a visit to Germany from January 27 to 30 to attend an international conference to present the Green Central Asia initiative, it said.
