MOSCOW. Jan 29 (Interfax) - The Kremlin has no intention to intervene in the Golunov case inquiry, according to presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov.
"The work is being done, and we have neither an intention nor, actually, a possibility to intervene in the investigative activity," Peskov said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
"The Investigative Committee is carrying out investigative procedures, which aim to establish and identify the circumstances and the violators of law," he said.
"The Investigative Committee is doing its job," Peskov said.
The press asked Peskov to comment on the questioning of five ex-policemen involved in the illegal prosecution of journalist Ivan Golunov at the Russian Investigative Committee and wondered whether the investigators intended to identity the masterminds of the Golunov case.
