Strange statements by Erdogan should not influence interaction on Syria - Russian parliamentarian

MOSCOW. Jan 29 (Interfax) - The settlement of the situation in Syria's Idlib is still possible only on the basis of the agreements reached in Astana and Sochi, Dmitry Novikov, first deputy chairman of the State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee, told Interfax.

"I believe the level of mutual understanding between Russia and Turkey currently allows to move on, despite the strange statements on the ineffectiveness of the Astana and other formats," Novikov said on Wednesday.

Earlier on Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Russia of not observing the Sochi and Astana agreements on Syria.
