New meeting between Azerbaijani, Armenian FMs on Karabakh to take place soon - Baku

BAKU. Jan 30 (Interfax) - Two-day talks between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan on settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict have ended in Geneva; the next meeting will take place in the near future, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said.

"The most intensive discussions between the parties in recent years have taken place at this meeting," the ministry said in a statement.

"The parties thoroughly discussed topics on the agenda addressed by the co-chairs. In particular, those proposals and agreements reached in 2019 were discussed, including carrying out a humanitarian exchange to prepare local residents of both countries for peace, as well as the fundamental principles and aspects of the settlement process of the conflict, which are based on the provisions and principles of the Helsinki Final Act, and the ways for further intensification of the settlement process," the statement said.

"In this light, the ministers agreed on holding the next meeting in the near future," it said.
