MOSCOW. Feb 4 (Interfax) - Twenty-four state-of-the-art samples of military hardware will make their debut at the Victory Day Military Parade in Moscow on May 9, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said during a conference call on Tuesday.
"Twenty-four state-of the-art samples of military hardware will debut on Red Square. They are anti-aircraft missile systems and battlefield air defense complexes, coast-based missile complexes, remote mine delivery vehicles, tanks, and infantry fighting vehicles," Shoigu said.
As many as 15,000 servicemen, 225 weapons and pieces of military hardware, and 150 aircraft will take part in the Victory Day Parade in Moscow, he said.
"Ten units wearing WWII-era military uniforms and a mechanized column of the legendary T-34 and SU-100 will participate in the historical part of the parade," Shoigu said.
Personnel in military units are actively preparing for the event, he said.
"Joint training will be conducted in the Alabino garrison from March 15. In all, there will be 15 such rehearsals. Rehearsals on Red Square will start from April 29," Shoigu said.
Given the scale and importance of the event, Shoigu asked all officials in charge to approach these preparations as responsibly as possible.
