MOSCOW. Feb 5 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu discussed military cooperation with Vietnam with Vietnamese Minister of National Defense Ngo Xuan Lich at negotiations in Moscow.
January 30, 2020 marked the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, Shoigu said.
"We are bonded by firm ties of comprehensive strategic partnership with Vietnam," he said.
"In this period, we have accumulated a unique experience of joint work based on longstanding friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation," Shoigu said.
The Russian-Vietnamese Bilateral Years, observed for the first time in the history of bilateral relations between the two countries between May 22, 2019 and May 22, 2020, vividly illustrate the special nature of relations between the two countries, he said.
"We are always open to substantive conversation on developing our mutually advantageous military and military-technical cooperation," Shoigu said.
