ST. PETERSBURG. March 4 (Interfax) - Troops in the Western Military District are to receive over 2,100 units of armament and military hardware in 2020 under the government defense contract; over 200 were already delivered in February, the District Commander Alexander Zhuravlyov said.
"Over the past month our units and formations received over 200 brand new and upgraded models of armament and military hardware. Over 2,100 units of modern armament and military hardware are to be delivered in the current year," Zhuravlyov was quoted by the district's press service as saying.
"The Sevastopol Separate Guards Motorized-Infantry Brigade stationed in Moscow has received a batch of 12 new BTR-82A armored personnel carriers," he said.
Among the delivered hardware are also eight Ural off-road vehicles for maintenance and repair; the combined-arms and tank armies received Patriot vehicles, ambulance cars and Kamaz all-terrain vehicles.
