Andriy Taran appointed new Ukrainian defense minister

KYIV. March 4 (Interfax) - The Verkhovna Rada endorsed Andriy Taran's appointment Ukrainian defense minister as nominated by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

A total of 285 members of the parliament voted for Taran's appointment at a plenary session on Wednesday.

In accordance with the Ukrainian Constitution, the president nominates candidates for foreign and defense ministers for the Rada's consideration.
