MOSCOW. March 20 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has created a stockpile of medical supplies, medication, and personal protective equipment as part of coronavirus containment measures, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"On March 12, a taskforce, headed by First Deputy Defense Minister Ruslan Tsalikov, was formed in order to prevent the import and spread of the coronavirus infection in the Armed Forces," Shoigu said at a meeting of the Defense Ministry's board on Friday.
"A stockpile of medical supplies, individual protective gear, and medication has been created," he said.
"Regular inspections of educational establishments, military units, and Defense Ministry organizations are being conducted," Shoigu said.
