MOSCOW. April 6 (Interfax) - The website of the "Russian Imperial Movement," which was blacklisted by the United States as a terrorist organization on Monday, has been on the Russian Justice Ministry's register of extremist material for eight years.
The http:www.rusimperia website was declared extremist by the Belyayevo district court in the Orenburg region on August 20, 2012, the ministry said on its website.
Also declared extremist were an issue of the newspaper titled "The right-wing view. The journal of the Russian Imperial Movement" (the ruling by the Smolny district court of St. Petersburg, dated August 31, 2009) and an issue of the political magazine "The Imperial Courier. Organ of the Russian Imperial Movement" (ruling by the Primorsky district court of St. Petersburg, dated November 27, 2009).
Earlier the media reported, citing the Department of State's Coordinator for Counterterrorism Nathan Sales, that the "Russian Imperial Movement" had been placed on the U.S. list of terrorist organizations.
