Russian military specialists to be sent to Bosnia and Herzegovina to fight against coronavirus - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. April 9 (Interfax) - A unit of 24 Russian servicemen will be airlifted to Bosnia and Herzegovina to help fight against coronavirus, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

"Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has issued directives on the orders of Russian Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin to promptly deliver to Bosnia and Herzegovina assistance in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus infection, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a report obtained by Interfax.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 24 servicemen and five pieces of military and special equipment will be delivered to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday by Ilyushin Il-76 military-transport planes of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

"A total of three flights are planned to deliver Russian military specialists to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Assistance in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus infection is being provided at the request of the administration of the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina)," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a report.
