Radiation levels normal in Primorye after N. Korean missile launch

VLADIVOSTOK. April 14 (Interfax) - North Korea's missile launch on Tuesday has not increased radiation levels in the Primorye Territory, the only region of Russia that borders North Korea.

Current radiation levels in Primorye are normal, 12 mR/h, the Primorye Hydro-Meteorological Service said on its website. This information is updated on an hourly basis.

Meanwhile, the Vladivostok regional center of the Russian Tsunami Warning System told Interfax they did not register any seismic events in the Sea of Japan on Tuesday.

According to reports citing the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, North Korea launched a number of missiles toward the Sea of Japan on Tuesday.

The South Korean military said that the test-launches of surface-ship cruise missiles lasted for 40 minutes.
