MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Russia hails U.S. President Donald Trump's approach, which stipulates international support for Moon mining, and is ready to cooperate with the United States in this area, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in an online interview.
"We have paid attention to the memorandum signed by President Trump in relation to the prospective mining of extraterrestrial resources, including those of the Moon," Lavrov said.
"In the context of initiatives put forward by President Trump, and he explicitly indicated the provision of international support for the mining plans, including those for the Moon, in accordance with the Treaty of 1967, we deem this approach to be correct and are ready to cooperate and to elaborate mutually acceptable approaches," Lavrov said.
