Russian Black Sea Fleet helps disinfect defense industry enterprises in Crimea

MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Radiation, chemical, and biological protection units from Russia's Black Sea Fleet are helping disinfect defense industry enterprises in Crimea, the press service for the Black Sea Fleet said.

"The Black Sea Fleet's area of responsibility includes more than ten defense industry facilities on a total area of more than 250 hectares, including buildings and roads located on the premises of these enterprises. Radiation, chemical, and biological protection specialists of the Black Sea Fleet disinfect approximately 30 hectares on a daily basis, or 1-2 facilities a day," the press service said.

For instance, in the past day, specialists disinfected the premises of the Sevastopol Marine Plant, which is a branch of the Zvyozdochka Ship Repair Center, and the Zaliv Shipyard in Kerch, it said.

More than 200 servicemen and some 50 units of hardware are taking part in these efforts.
