MOSCOW. April 14 (Interfax) - Tank units of the Russian Black Sea Fleet's army corps conducted a nighttime live-fire exercise and practiced driving combat vehicles at night at a training range in Crimea, Black Sea Fleet spokesman Alexei Rulyov said.
The tank units fired on targets imitating mock enemy hardware and artillery systems at the Angarsky training range in Crimea, he said.
"Crews operating T-72B3 tanks within a tank squadron conducted live-fire drills on the move, a circumstance which made it far more difficult for them to engage targets during a simulated battle because of irregular terrain and darkness," he said.
In addition, during the drills, which were routine, the tank units practiced neutralizing mock enemy anti-tank units at equipped positions after conducting reconnaissance there in advance.
