Two Raptor patrol boats for Russian Navy floated out in St. Petersburg

MOSCOW. April 15 (Interfax) - Two new Raptor patrol boats for the Baltic Fleet were floated out in St. Petersburg on Wednesday, the press service for the Russian Navy said.

"The ceremony for floating out two Project 03160 Raptor patrol boats was held at the new shipbuilding plant Pella in St. Petersburg today," the press service said.

Russian Navy Commander Nikolai Yevmenov was quoted by the press service as saying that they are expected to join the Navy in June 2020.

"The crews of the boats are currently undergoing training. After the necessary tests are completed, both boats will join the Baltic Fleet," Yevmenov said.

Boats of this type are highly effective in protecting naval bases, he said.
