Prisoner exchange between DPR, Kyiv in 8-for-10 format scheduled for Thursday - Donetsk (Part 2)

DONETSK. April 15 (Interfax) - An 8-for-10 prisoner exchange between Donetsk and Kyiv will take place on April 16, ombudsman of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Darya Morozova said.

"The prisoner exchange between the DPR and Kyiv is to take place tomorrow, April 16. The procedure will be undertaken in line with the 8-for-10 formula," Morozova told reporters on Wednesday.

The self-proclaimed Luhansk People's Republic (LPR) has fulfilled measures regarding the procedural clearance of prisoners who are subject to exchange and hopes for Kyiv's similar steps, the LPR envoy to the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group on settlement of the crisis in Donbas, Olga Kobtseva, said.

"The LPR has implemented all of the measures required for the procedural clearance [of prisoners]," Kobtseva said on GTRK LPR television.

The LPR hopes that "Ukraine will meet the same commitments in line with the reached agreements," she said.

On April 8, the LPR and Kyiv agreed on a prisoner exchange in line with the 11-for-8 formula, Kobtseva said following the TCG videoconference. The LPR envoy said that April 17 is the deadline for the prisoner exchange.

The TCG has earlier agreed on the prisoner exchange on the condition that it takes place before Orthodox Easter.
