First Covid-19 case identified in town housing Russian cosmonaut training center (Part 2)

KRASNOGORSK, Moscow region. April 17 (Interfax) - The first case of coronavirus infection has been detected in the past 24 hours in Zvyozdny Gorodok (Star City), a restricted-access town housing the Russian cosmonaut training center outside Moscow, the Moscow region's coronavirus operative response headquarters said.

Thus, the number of municipalities in the Moscow region where Covid-19 cases have been recorded has grown to 60, the headquarters said.

Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin had said on Wednesday that thirty Roscosmos employees had been diagnosed with coronavirus, and four of them recovered.

The cosmonaut training center had told Interfax earlier that the International Space Station (ISS) crew to return to the earth on April 17 will be met with special safety precautions. All specialists to be engaged in the search and rescue operation have been tested for coronavirus and will be wearing special protective suits. Contacts with the returning crewmembers will be minimized.
