MOSCOW. April 27 (Interfax) - Russia is to carry on with economic projects and combat activities in Syria, despite the coronavirus pandemic, Russian Ambassador in Damascus Alexander Yefimov said.
"Naturally, the pandemic affects everything that's going on in Syria and equally in other countries. Measures introduced here, including the curfew and other travel restrictions across the country, are substantially impeding the functioning of virtually all establishments and enterprises in the country, including projects, in the implementation of which Russian companies are participating," Yefimov said in an interview with Interfax on Monday.
Everyone has to adapt to difficult new conditions, observing mandatory precautions. "But even in such circumstances, Russian economic projects are being implemented, and combat and diplomatic missions are being accomplished, as always," he said.
