Another 6 medical centers built by military to open in Russia on Thursday - Shoigu

MOSCOW. April 29 (Interfax) - Six more medical centers built by military specialists will begin operation in Russia on Thursday, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said on Wednesday.

"The construction of 16 multifunctional medical centers has been under way on the Russian president's orders. Two of them, one in Nizhny Novgorod and the other in Odintsovo, have been commissioned. Another six centers will be commissioned tomorrow and the rest before May 15," Shoigu said at a Defense Ministry board meeting.

Seven mobile centers for 700 patients have also been prepared for deployment, and 86 doctor-nurse teams have been set up, he said.

"As many as 450 beds have been set up for non-infected patients on board the Irtysh hospital ship so as to unload Russian Defense Ministry hospitals in the Far East for admitting patients with the new coronavirus infection," Shoigu said.
