MOSCOW. May 19 (Interfax) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke to his German counterpart Heiko Maas by telephone on May 19 at the latter's initiative, the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday.
"The discussion involved pressing issues of bilateral Russian-German relations and a number of international topics," the ministry stated.
"When discussing a settlement of the internal Ukrainian conflict, Lavrov emphasized the importance of pressing Kyiv into unconditional and full implementation of the agreements reached by the summit of the 'Normandy-format' leaders in Paris on December 9, 2019, and subject to implementation through [Trilateral] Contact Group mechanisms.
"The ministers called for a coordinated global effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic and expressed hope that this will be facilitated by the 73rd World Health Assembly session," the ministry said.
