MOSCOW. May 28 (Interfax) - The multifunctional field hospital that was opened in the village of Botlikh, Russia's internal republic of Dagestan to help counter the spread of Covid-19 has begun admitting patients, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
"All patients coming here with health complaints undergo a medical examination, are tested for Covid-19, receive all necessary treatment, and are under the constant observation of qualified specialists," the Defense Ministry said in a statement shared with Interfax on Thursday.
The hospital is equipped with ventilators and all other necessary equipment to treat coronavirus patients and carry out testing.
Earlier, military medics travelled nearly 2,000 kilometers in allocated vehicles from Alabino in the Moscow region to Botlikh, where they installed a multifunctional field hospital within 24 hours and began working.
The Defense Ministry has deployed two mobile field hospitals with a combined 200-bed capacity to fight the spread of coronavirus in Dagestan at the behest of Russian President Vladimir Putin and as directed by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. The first hospital was set up in Buinaksk on May 23, and the second in Botlikh on May 26.
