Medvedev criticizes NSDC Secretary Danilov for his statements on Russia

MOSCOW. June 5 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev has called the statements by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksiy Danilov, who called Russia an artificial entity, "anti-Russian nonsense voiced by a strange being with a Russian last name."

"One shouldn't pay attention to all the nonsense that is said in Ukraine about our country. Even if it's anti-Russian nonsense voiced by a strange being with a Russian last name from the Ukrainian Security Council," Medvedev said on Facebook, responding to a request made by one of his subscribers to react to Danilov's statement.

"They all [Ukrainian officials] should think about how to preserve their country, restore the trust of various groups of people in Ukraine, improve relations with the LPR and the DPR, not talk about the future of our state, which is more than 1,000 years old," he said.

Danilov, in particular, said Russia is an artificial entity which "was once assembled at gunpoint, [...] it's a collected territory, which will disintegrate sooner or later."
