Defense Ministry reports 1,552 Covid-19 cases in Russian Armed Forces

MOSCOW. June 18 (Interfax) - The number of Russian servicemen who recovered from coronavirus has increased to 5,227, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.

"As of today, 1,552 servicemen with positive [coronavirus] tests have been identified in military administration bodies, divisions, forces, and military units," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a bulletin on its website.

"Over the past 24 hours, 79 servicemen in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation recovered after undergoing medical treatment. Thus, the overall number of recoveries in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (including the latest figures) has increased to 5,227," the ministry said.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 268 servicemen, cadets and students of military higher education facilities with positive Covid-19 tests were detected. As of today, 253 infected civilian employees of the Russian Armed Forces were detected.
