MOSCOW. June 19 (Interfax) - The claims made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who likened the Soviet Union to Nazi Germany, will have an adverse effect on him and on bilateral relations, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"Negatively. I think for himself, for Volodymyr Oleksandrovych [Zelensky] there is nothing good about it, given that the Second World War caused much suffering in Ukraine itself," Putin said in an interview with the "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" program, a fragment of which was aired by Vesti program on Rossiya-1(VGTRK) television channel.
During his visit to Poland in January Zelensky said that both the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany were responsible for the outbreak of the Second World War.
