Court arrests Kursk policeman for 2 months on suspicion of treason

MOSCOW. June 22 (Interfax) - Moscow's Lefortovsky District Court has ruled to take into custody the chief of a district police office in the Kursk region who is suspected of high treason.

"The court ruled on June 20 to take Dmitry Alexandrovich Borzenkov, suspected of committing a crime covered by Russian Criminal Code Article 275, into pretrial custody until August 18," court press secretary Ksenia Pervovlasenko told Interfax on Monday.

If Borzenkov is found guilty, he may face from 12 to 20 years in prison.
