Man involved in Moscow parade incident to undergo mental evaluation - source

MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - A private who was involved in an incident during the Victory Parade in Moscow has been hospitalized for mental evaluation; a preliminary inquiry is underway, an informed source told Interfax on Thursday.

"Nikita Yeroshenko, 22, has been placed in a hospital for psychiatric examination. A preliminary inquiry into his unlawful actions is being carried out," the source said.

The conscript was due to participate in yesterday's parade, but at the last minute, he was moved into reserve over a conflict with fellow servicemen. In revenge, he smashed the window of a Federal Protective Service vehicle with a carabine buttstock.

A procedural decision will be made upon completion of the inquiry, the source said.
