MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin invited French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss joint actions in opposing modern challenges at negotiations in a videoconference format on Friday.
"We are facing new threats today, one of them being the coronavirus infection. We've been unable to meet face to face for quite a while, but it seems to me, we've learned to work in modern format. It's even more efficient in some ways than our ordinary meetings," Putin said during a videoconference with Macron on Friday.
Various longstanding international threats that should be addressed together "haven't gone anywhere," Putin said.
"This includes terrorism, uncontrollable migration, climate change, and possible pandemics in the broad sense - not only those related to the coronavirus infection but infections in general. Unfortunately, this also includes the crumbling arms control system. All of this is certainly on our common agenda today. I think we'll discuss everything I've mentioned this way or another today," Putin said.
