Coronavirus not seriously impacting ships' delivery to clients - USC head

MOSCOW. June 29 (Interfax) - The coronavirus pandemic has had no significant impact on the term of ships' delivery to clients, head of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) Alexei Rakhmanov said.

"From the delivery program's point of view, of course, there has been no significant [impact], because most ships are undergoing the final stage of construction, and the only work that needs to be done is factory," Rakhmanov said during an online press conference held by Interfax.

However, some foreign specialists participating in civilian projects have refused to travel to Russia amid the coronavirus pandemic and related restrictions, he said.

"We haven't experienced any other serious consequences. So, I would say that the impact from coronavirus has ranged from moderate to mild, if we speak of the seriousness of the impact of coronavirus on our commissioning program," Rakhmanov said.
