MOSCOW. July 2 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have confirmed their intentions to strengthen their bilateral privileged partnership in a phone call, and Modi has congratulated Putin on the successful vote on amendments to the Russian Constitution, the Kremlin press service said on Thursday.
"While discussing topical items on the Russian-Indian agenda, the parties reaffirmed the mutual intention to foster privileged strategic partnership between the two countries and their close interaction in the bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations and unions," the press service said.
"The Indian prime minister congratulated Vladimir Putin on the success of the national vote on approving the amendments to the Russian Constitution," it said.
Putin "thanked [Modi] for the congratulations and for the participation of an Indian Armed Forces detail in the Victory Parade on Red Square on June 24," the press service said.
