New Russian charge d'affaires a.i. to Libya plans to establish diplomatic ties with representatives of all political forces (Part 2)

MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - Russia's new charge d'affaires ad interim to Libya, Dzhamshed Boltayev, has said he is determined to establish a diplomatic dialogue with all political forces which exist in the country.

"I will undertake all necessary actions in Tripoli, Tobruk, and Benghazi to establish normal diplomatic ties with representatives of all political forces in Libya," Boltayev told Interfax on Friday.

"I'll be facilitating the normalization of the peace process and intra-Libyan dialogue as much as I can, so that the Libyans themselves can determine their future and settle all political problems, as there is no military solution to this situation," Boltayev said.

"The minister [Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov] has repeatedly said this, and the Libyans agree with this today," he said.

While the Russian diplomatic mission will be working in Tunisia for the time being for security reasons, Russian diplomats will travel to Libya "when necessary," Boltayev said.
