MOSCOW. July 3 (Interfax) - The Avtomatika Concern has developed the Gipnoz remote control system for robots, the Rostec state corporation said.
"The solution uses Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality technologies for robotics operation under extreme conditions of radiation, high and low temperature and poor visibility," the press service said.
The system can be used for extraction and production of nuclear fuel, nuclear reactor maintenance, mine accident response, and in solving other special problems, it said.
"The operator controls an unmanned system remotely, using the VR glasses connected to the control panel, which display information from a robot's cameras and sensors. The AI technologies help automatically detect and illuminate items handled by a robot," the press service said.
Earlier, Oleg Martyanov, head of the National Center for the Development of Technology and Basic Elements of Robotics, of the Foundation for Advanced Research Projects, said in an interview with Interfax that the FEDOR humanoid robot could start being used for sorting radioactive waste.
