MOSCOW. July 9 (Interfax) - The Russian military has conducted a large-scale exercise to practice dealing with the aftermath of the use of weapons of mass destruction (WMD), the Western Military District said in a statement on Thursday.
"More than 3,000 servicemen from the all-arms army of the Western Military District were involved at the military bases in the Voronezh, Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk, and Smolensk regions," the statement obtained by Interfax said.
According to the Western Military District headquarters, "military chemists acted after receiving a signal of a chemical alarm, during which, a hypothetical enemy used weapons of mass destruction."
