KYIV. July 21 (Interfax) - The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has launched a criminal inquiry on the charge of a terrorist attack over the hostage-taking incident in Lutsk.
"SBU investigators opened a criminal case under Ukrainian Criminal Code Article 258 Part 1 (terrorist attack)," SBU told Interfax.
A man seized the commuter bus with around 20 passengers in the center of Lutsk this morning. The man is carrying a gun and an explosive. There have been no reports about the injured.
The criminal is not allowing food and water to be brought to the hostages, and the people are unable to get off the bus, as he is threatening to blow it up, if someone approaches it too closely, Ukrainian Deputy Interior Minister Anton Herashchenko said.
