MOSCOW. July 22 (Interfax) - Russia's State Duma on Wednesday passed at second, third, and final reading a bill recognizing the disposition of a part of the territory of the Russian Federation as extremism.
"The amendments bring the legislation on extremism prevention into compliance with the new provisions of the Constitution," Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said, commenting on the initiative.
The document classes violation of the territorial integrity of Russia, including the disposition of a part of its territory, as extremism.
The document in this regard specifies the terminology of Federal Law 114-FZ "On the Prevention of Extremism," which classes violations of Russia's territorial integrity as extremist activity.
