MOSCOW. July 24 (Interfax) - The Russian Foreign Ministry, in response to a suggestion by United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo of possibly involving Russia in the anti-China campaign, has reaffirmed Moscow's line toward further strengthening cooperation with Beijing.
"Mike Pompeo's statement about the possibility of drawing Moscow into the U.S. anti-Chinese campaign, we see this as yet another naive attempt to complicate the Russian-Chinese partnership, to drive a wedge in the friendly relations between Russia and China," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in a statement on the ministry's website.
"[Moscow] intends to further strengthen cooperation with the PRC [People's Republic of China], which we see as a very important factor for global stabilization," Zakharova said.
