Putin informs Russian Security Council permanent members of telephone call with Trump (Part 2)

MOSCOW. July 24 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has hosted a meeting of the Russian Security Council permanent members to discuss the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, his telephone call with United States President Donald Trump, and the resumption of international commercial flights.

"Following up on the Russian government's decision announced today on resuming flights to and from a number of countries, the parties exchanged opinions on the essence of the relevant negotiations with other countries," Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

The participants also discussed Russia's relations with Commonwealth of Independent States countries, including Azerbaijan and Armenia, "mainly in light of the continuing escalation of tensions on the border between these republics," Peskov said.

"The president also informed the meeting participants of his telephone call yesterday with the U.S. president," he said.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu presented a report on preparations for a naval parade, Peskov said.

In addition to Shoigu, the participants in the meeting also included Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Federation Council Chairperson Valentina Matviyenko, Presidential Executive Office chief Anton Vaino, Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev, Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov, Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) Director Sergei Naryshkin, and Special Presidential Representative for Environment Protection, Ecology, and Transport Sergei Ivanov.
