KYIV. July 28 (Interfax) - Crowds of people gathered outside the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday evening to protest against implementation of the latest ceasefire deals reached in Minsk by the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on Donbas.
Several hundred people gathered outside the presidential office, an Interfax correspondent reported. They criticized the ceasefire agreements which they think would put military lives at risk by not allowing troops to open fire in response to enemy activities. The protestors also placed a banner naming 184 troops killed since Zelensky became president.
The protestors demanded resignation of Ukrainian presidential office head Andriy Yermak, National Security and Defense Committee first deputy secretary Ruslan Demchenko, Defense Minister Andriy Taran, and the Armed Forces Commander Col Gen. Ruslan Khomchak.
The protestors said they expected their demands to be met before Independence Day, which is celebrated on August 24, or else they would hold a bigger rally to remind the president of their demands.
