Three Russian corvettes conduct anti-sub drills in Baltic Sea

MOSCOW. Aug 10 (Interfax) - The Steregushchy, the Boiky, and the Stoiky corvettes together with Kamov Ka-27PL anti-submarine helicopters have conducted a joint anti-submarine exercise, the Russian Baltic Fleet said on Monday.

"The crews of the corvettes practiced hunting and destroying a mock enemy submarine," the fleet said in a statement obtained by Interfax.

Radars, sonars, and onboard anti-submarine weapons were used during the simulated operation to hunt and destroy to the mock enemy submarine.

The drills, which the fleet's staff has described as routine, also included a missile and artillery live-fire exercise against sea and airborne targets.
