KUBINKA (Moscow region). Aug 24 (Interfax) - Russia has ruled out the possibility of any re-exportation of S-400 Triumf air defense systems by Turkey, Director of Russia's Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) Dmitry Shugayev said.
Any re-exportation of S-400 would be impossible without Moscow's consent, and besides, Ankara has not sent such a request, Shugayev told Interfax at the Army 2020 military-technical forum on Sunday. "Both we and our Turkish colleagues have repeatedly declared our positions on this matter. I'd like to emphasize once again that a permission from the Russian government is necessary for any Russian-made arms to be re-exported from any country to a third country. This rule is set out in contractual documentation, including the contract for the delivery of S-400 Triumf air defense systems to Turkey," Shugayev said when asked by Interfax whether any re-exportation of S-400 systems by Turkey is possible, for instance, under the pressure from the U.S.
"The FSMTC of Russia has received no request from the Republic of Turkey regarding a re-exportation of this system to a third country. Therefore, we're totally ruling out such a possibility," Shugayev said.
