KUBINKA (Moscow region). Aug 24 (Interfax) - Moscow and Ankara have yet to discuss a financial model for an additional delivery of S-400 air defense systems to Turkey, Rosoboronexport head Alexander Mikheyev said.
"The contract is signed [and in effect]. Today, we're discussing the financial model in terms of performing this contract," Mikheyev told reporters during the Army 2020 military-technical forum on Sunday.
"It depends on when our partners are ready to definitively decide on the procedure under which this project is financed," Mikheyev said when asked whether the contract for an additional shipment of S-400 systems to Turkey would start to be performed in 2021.
The press service for Rosoboronexport later clarified that the contract for the delivery of S-400 systems signed in 2017 includes an option for an additional consignment of the systems.
"The head of Rosoboronexport was talking about the option for the delivery of the systems under the first contract. The second contract is currently at the stage of discussion," the company's press service said.
