VLADIVOSTOK. Aug 24 (Interfax) - More than 3,000 servicemen, 30 warships and logistics vessels, and around 400 pieces of hardware of the Russian Pacific Fleet are taking part in the active phase of a tactical exercise in an off-shore maritime zone.
The active stage of the drills is being conducted in the northwestern part of the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Okhotsk, in Kamchatka, and on the Chukchi Peninsula, the press service of the Pacific Fleet said.
The maneuvers will help assess the combat preparedness and combat training of units of ships and the fleet's air force and coast guard forces, it said.
A missile and artillery live-fire exercise is expected to take place during the drills.
