MOSCOW. Sept 2 (Interfax) - The Basmanny District Court of Moscow on Tuesday issued an arrest warrant for Grei Efendiyev, an investigator with the central apparatus of the Investigative Committee, who is charged with mediation in giving a five million rubles bribe for a citizen's exemption from criminal liability.
"The court granted the investigator's motion, taking Grei Khalildinovich Efendiyev into custody until October 31," the court's press secretary Irina Morozova told Interfax.
Having studied the parties' arguments, the court found the investigators' position to be reasonable and did not find any grounds for a softer measure of restraint for the accused.
Efendiyev is charged with mediation in bribery. The crime is punishable by up to seven years in prison.
